Allan and Clarice Skidmore, on behalf of the Allan Skidmore Family Foundation, have made a $2-million gift in support of a new Emergency Department at Langley Memorial Hospital.

Allan and his wife Clarice have lived in Langley for 18 years, and have just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Five of their grandchildren were born at Langley Memorial Hospital.

Through their patient experiences, they saw firsthand the tremendous need to improve the facilities and after speaking to the Foundation and learning about the plans for a new Emergency Department, they decided to support the campaign as the first major donor.

This isn’t the Skidmore's first charitable endeavour with a BC hospital. They also gave to BC Children’s Hospital in honour of their grandson, funding the Alex Skidmore Renal Dialysis Unit.

Through the Allan Skidmore Family Foundation, the Skidmore family focuses on catalysing powerful change through contributions in health care, community development, and education.
